Which retailers send birthday e-mails to customers?

When we placed 200 orders as research for the 2013 Online Retail Delivery Report we used 15 February as our birthday whenever a retailer asked for it.

So who wished us a happy birthday?

Escentual – This is a very simple email offering 10% off online when you enter the voucher code:

Adidas – This email offers 15% off which is valid for 7 days. I liked the way they start the email with ‘Didn’t get everything you wanted?’  It’s a cheeky but attention grabbing line illustrating the idea that Adidas can fix that problem.

Manchester United – Instead of receiving a percentage discount Manchester United are offering £5 off when you spend over £30.

JD Sports – Free delivery is the gift from JD Sports:

Barratts – They sent out a very colourful 10% off your next order with no minimum spend:

ASOS- This was my favourite email promotion because the piñata is moving and the coloured shapes change colour. It makes the email a lot more fun catching the customer’s attention with a party theme. They also offer two promotions – 10% off and free next day delivery.

Ebuyer – Finally, ebuyer offer free next working day delivery – no code needs to be entered for this, it is just automatically added to your account.
